„Bucharest, not Budapest” campaign developped by McCann Bucharest & MRM Worldwide Romania for the now internationally famous chocolate brand Rom Autentic, wins another important award – Bronze Pencil @ One Show Awards in Advertising Category (Websites, Microsites & Banners)

Launched in July 2013, “Bucharest not Budapest” was an innovative campaign aimed at ending once and for all the confusion between the two capital cities – Bucharest and Budapest. For decades, Bucharest – the capital city of Romania – was mistaken with Budapest – the capital city of Hungary – and, although it generated indignation and negative comments, nobody reacted.

After being reported by hundreds of international publications, including EuroNews, Atlantic Cities or BBC World, “Bucharest not Budapest” campaign even determined Blaze Bayley, the former lead singer of Iron Maiden, to apologize for mistaking Bucharest with Budapest in 1995, during his Bucharest concert.

The Bronze Pencil won in One Show adds up to a Bronze award in Eurobest, a Golden Drum and a Grand Prix in Golden Drum Awards 2013.
